Emily Adams – Founder,
Emily is a highly motivated physiotherapist, who is committed to providing high quality physiotherapy care for patients on a personalized, one-to-one basis.
As with all healthcare practices, physiotherapy too is constantly evolving and Emily is a strong believer in staying abreast of the latest scientific research.
Emily Adams earned an Honors Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Biology, and minor in Kinesiology, from York University, Toronto. She graduated with a Masters degree in Physiotherapy from Queens University in Kingston in 2006. Emily’s interest in pelvic health began at Queens University and she completed her Masters thesis in this field. Emily spent her early career practicing sports orthopaedics. She also has a background in acute care physiotherapy and in general medical, cardiorespiratory, ICU and post-operative care.
Emily’s experiences in health care encouraged her to pursue extensive training in pelvic health, diastasis recti, pelvic-floor dysfunction and pelvic girdle pain. She has received training from some of the most highly regarded Physiotherapists in the field, including experts from Canada, the U.S., Australia and Holland.
Michelle Vanderpol – HBKIN, MSc.P.T., FCAMPT,
Michelle Vanderpol attained her Honours Bachelor of Kinesiology with a minor in Gerontology from Lakehead University in 2009. She went on to earn her Masters of Science in Physical Therapy from Queens University in 2012. Michelle developed a keen interest in Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy while performing her Masters thesis in the field. Michelle began pursuing further Pelvic Health education immediately post-graduation.
Michelle is an FCAMPT certified Physiotherapist (fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy); this is the highest standard in Orthopaedic Clinical Education recognized by the Canadian Physiotherapy Association.
Michelle has spent her Physiotherapy career treating a combination of both Pelvic Health and Orthopaedic injuries, utilizing a philosophy of a whole body approach.
Michelle has extensive training in the assessment and treatment of a variety of pelvic health conditions including incontinence, pain related disorders, pelvic girdle pain, and central pain mechanisms. Michelle also acts as a teaching assistant for Pelvic Health Solutions, a company dedicated to educating physiotherapists and practitioners about pelvic health.
Shawn Campbell – Hons.BA.Soc., BSc.P.T.,
Shawn graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy in 2002. Shawn has completed a variety of post-graduate courses including manual therapy, acupuncture, and therapeutic exercise certificates. He specializes in orthopaedic physiotherapy and has over 15 years of experience in private practice.
Shawn is committed to helping his clients return to work or recreational activities quickly, and he genuinely wants to do this in a fun and positive way. He enjoys hiking and golfing and has completed several FITforeGolf courses. When Shawn is not working, he loves spending time with his family, and is a huge hockey fan. He even believes that the Leafs will win the Stanley Cup in his lifetime!
Lynn Cormier – BSc.P.T.,
Lynn Cormier graduated from Dalhousie University with a degree in Physiotherapy in 1981. The courses and continuing education that Lynn has completed over the years is extensive, including the McKenzie Method, orthopaedic manual therapy, vestibular rehabilitation, acupuncture, and Arcon assessment of work capability, to name a few. Most recently, Lynn has completed several levels of training through the Pelvic Health Solutions Institute.
Lynn has worked in cardiovascular intensive care, outpatient orthopaedics, inpatient medicine and surgery, and a stint of industrial medicine that included pre-employment screening, job demands analysis, and ergonomics. Lynn brings with her a wealth of experience from 25 years at Headwaters Health Care in outpatient orthopaedics and inpatient care.
Lynn has been an enthusiastic participant in the fitness field for over 30 years, and completed her 1st marathon as a 50th birthday present!
Claire Upton – BA.Sc., MBA, Administrative Support
Claire Upton is a Waterloo Engineer and a Kellogg MBA, but was excited to have the opportunity to put her "corporate" career on hold and join the Core Restore team. In addition to being a friendly face at the clinic, Claire also welcomes people to her fitness class at Headwaters Racquet Club, and owns a nutrition business with her husband.
She is grateful that her work schedule permits her to volunteer regularly at her children's school. Claire lives with her husband, two young children, and their dog in a log cabin in the woods near Erin.
Lisa Duck – Administrative Support
Lisa’s smile and helpful personality welcomes clients to Core Restore. In her role, Lisa also brings strong organizational skills that assist Core Restore in delivering outstanding service to clients. In addition to her work with Core Restore, Lisa is a mother of two children and continues to enjoy leading Epicurean marketing and supporting charitable initiatives.
Wendy De Langley – Administrative Support
Wendy is a health and wellness enthusiast. An avid runner for many years, she likes to support different events in the community and has completed various 5 and 10K runs for charity. As a mother and wife, she is very devoted to her caring family, who keep her engaged in their many endeavours. A food connoisseur at home, Wendy enjoys crafting wholesome and nourishing meals for her family. In the summer, Wendy enjoys absorbing everything nature has to offer in Muskoka including kayaking and boating. During all seasons you may find Wendy in the company of her two loving dogs, enjoying nature walks or hiking.
